Must-Visit Place For Devotees- Akrura Ghat Vrindavan!!!
Akrura Ghat is one of the bathing Ghats at Vrindavan, Mathura District. This place is known where Lord Krishna and Lord Balarama are believed to unveil their original forms of Lord Vishnu and Sesha Naga to Akrura.
One of the major attractions is an ancient Gopi Nath temple dedicated to Krishna and Balarama. Akrura is depicted standing in between the two. It is believed that
one can eradicate all his sins by bathing here during a full moon.
Akrur Ghat is situated four miles north of Mathura and one mile south of Vrindavan nearby is Akrur-gaon.
Srimad Bhagavatam is pure nectar. The story goes like this that Akrura was a non-devotee and was carrying Krishna and Balaram from Vrindavan to Mathura on the
order of Kamsa.
While heading towards their destination, Akrura halted his chariot on the banks of Yamuna making both brothers seated on it, he went alone to bathe in a deep pool in the Yamuna and perform his other regular morning duties. Akrur meditated upon Lord, Sanatan Brahma (four-armed Vishnu). Instead of expecting Darshan of his God Sanatan Brahma, he saw Shri Rama and Shri Krishna in his meditation.
This whole incident made him confused and he gazed towards the chariot, where he saw Rama and Krishna sitting. Thinking it as an illusion he again went into the water, dipped in it but he saw them there even. He was now fully confident that Shri Rama and Shri Krishna were truly the complete Sanatan Brahma and can’t leave Vrindavan (Nand Gaon) at any cost.
Shri Rama and Shri Krishna came till Akrur-ghat, which marks the line of demarcation between Mathura and Vrindavan which means the end of Mathura and the beginning of the Vrindavan. Thereafter, they both remained in Vrindavan in Their unmanifest (aprakata) forms and travelled back to Mathura on the chariot with Akrur from Akrur ghat to Mathura and performed pastimes there.
The mere touch of Vrindavan made akrura pure devotee likewise Hanumanji took saint Chaitanya Mahaprabhu inside the boundary of Vrindavan and then he felt ecstatic. After then Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu made Akrura Ghat his headquarters as long as he stayed in Vrindavan.
Akrura Ghat acquires a temple of Akrura with Krishna and Balarama. Akrura is depicted standing in between the two. It is believed that one can eradicate all his sins by bathing here during a full moon.
Opposite the altar is a deity of a Surabhi cow and next to it is the lotus footprint of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. A little to the right of the altar is an old banyan tree which is said to be where Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu rested.
Yashodha -Nandan and Devki-Nandan are one, but from the viewpoint of rasa, there is a difference between them.
