Journey To Uma Shakti Peeth, Vrindavan!!!
Uma Shakti Peeth is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas in Vrindavan where the idol of Sati is worshipped in the form of Uma. It is believed that when Lord Shiva was in deep sorrow after losing his wife, then he used his Suda to cut Maa Sati’s body and in doing so ringlets of hair fell in this place. Uma Shakti Peeth is one of the important pilgrimages in the holy city of Vrindavan.
Five separate deities of the five sects or sampradayas are worshipped. Each idol is worshipped by the sampradaya’s different worship methodology. Other idols installed are, Lord Shiva (Shaiv sampradaya), Lord Laxmi Naarayan (Vaishnav sampradaya), Lord Ganesh (Ganpataya sampradaya), Lord Surya (Surya Sampradaya). Jagatdhatri Devi is also worshipped here. The temple is made of white marble and Pillars are made with black stone and presents a picturesque view.
Just leading to the main courtyard are two golden coloured lions that represent the vahana of Maa Durga.
Many charity events like providing shelter, books to poor children, and distributing clothes to the underprivileged during winters, etc., are carried out in the temple.
